Position Size Calculator & Risk Management Tools
Free tools for Forex, Indices, and Crypto traders to calculate pip value, margin, and position size accurately.
Why Calculate Pip Value?
In Forex trading, the value of a 'pip' (percentage in point) changes based on the currency pair and your account currency. A 10-pip move in EUR/USD is not the same value as a 10-pip move in GBP/JPY.
Who needs this tool?
- Scalpers: Who need to know the exact dollar value of small moves.
- Risk Managers: To align stop-loss distance with percentage risk.
- Global Traders: Trading pairs denominated in currencies different from their account.
Common Calculation Errors
- Assuming Standard Lots always equal $10/pip (only true for XXX/USD pairs).
- Ignoring the exchange rate conversion for Cross Pairs (e.g., EUR/JPY).
- Confusing Micro lots (1k units) with Mini lots (10k units).
Risk Precision
Precision is the difference between gambling and trading. Knowing your exact pip value allows you to calculate the precise reward-to-risk ratio for every trade set up.
